ONE OF GAP'S MANY SUCCESS STORIES

You may not have seen her on the national TV news, but one of GAP's students, Angelique Beards, was in Washington D. C. in January to witness the inauguration of President George W. Bush.

Angelique, a single mom and a senior at Guadalupe Alternative Program's alternative high school, was chosen to participate in the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference in our nationšs Capitol from Jan. 16 - 21 for exemplary performance in the classroom and an interest in leadership.  Angelique was understandably excited about this honor and the opportunity to meet with governmental leaders and participated in Inaugural events and the GAP staff is proud of her accomplishment.

The conference was sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council

In the 30 years since its inception, GAP has provided educational opportunities to hundreds of adults and young persons while continuing to create and implement new and innovative support and intervention programs.
